Let’s Get Rid of Prong, Choke, and Shock Collars for Good!

It’s 2014 and we’ve come a long way with making humane products for animals. Yet, we somehow still allow the use of prong, choke, and shock collars for dogs. If dogs were able to choose between a harness that doesn’t pull or slip, and feels good, compared to a prong, choke, or shock collar, what do you think they would pick?

Training with a Freedom Harness

We all know they would NOT pick the prong, choke, or shock collar! We all love our furry companions and we need to show our unconditional love for them by putting them in a harness that is not made of metal or sends a shock to their neck! There are many options, but the option that I love is the Freedom Harness. Not only does it take stress completely off their neck, the Freedom Harness promotes “no pulling” and are “no slip,” so your dog can’t magically slip out of the harness and run off! Cold Nose Lodge is a huge promoter of the Freedom Harness and recommends it to any dog owner.  Our training staff sees the progress in walking and behavior with only a few times in the harness.

Not sure of your dogs size? No problem! Stop in during store hours and bring your furry friend along so we can fit them and get you both on your way to spread the word about the Freedom Harness! Once you switch you’ll never go back; that’s the lodge’s goal! We all need to do our best to get rid of prong, choke, and shock collars for good. It is inhumane and unfair to the animals.

Freedom Harnesses come in a variety of colors.

If you can’t understand or grasp the pain they endure while you put one around their neck, think of something that is so uncomfortable and unbearable to wear, even for a few minutes, and imagine how you would feel if you had no choice and had to wear it; all day, every day. When you went on walks, it would choke you. When you crossed a line, you were instantly shocked.  If you wouldn’t wear it or make anyone else wear it, why would you make someone you call your best friend wear it? An animal that shows its emotion through a tail wag, barking or howling, and displays unconditional love deserves better.  If you wouldn’t make your child or family member wear it, don’t be the one that makes their dog wear it.

We can take these inhumane collars away and move towards a safer, more comfortable and positive way of walking your dog! Walks should be enjoyable, not hurtful! Don’t let your dog suffer and please look into switching into a Freedom Harness!
