Rayne and Betty

Our Founder, Rayne, is originally from San Diego, California but has spent most of her life living in Virginia. Her father was in the Navy, so she has also spent time in South Carolina and Connecticut. She now lives in the beautiful countryside in Hereford, PA. She is the proud mother of two children and three dogs.

Rayne worked for eight years in video and web cast production in the Washington, DC area following college. Her former clients include MTV, NASA, Exxon/Mobil, and Defenders of Wildlife. She then made a big career change and went back to school to join the veterinary profession. She became a Licensed Veterinary Technician and dog trainer in 2004.

She received her BS in Communications from James Madison University in 1995, and an AAS in Veterinary Technology from Northern Virginia Community College in 2004. She has also completed Purdue University’s DOGS course and the Canine Training and Management Program at Kutztown University.

Rayne is active in animal welfare and rescue. She was the Public and Community Relations Coordinator for Loudoun County Animal Care and Control in Virginia before relocating to Pennsylvania. She continues her work with animals in need through awareness events and fundraisers for local rescue groups at Cold Nose Lodge.

Rayne is also involved with the local business community. She holds memberships in the Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians, Behavior Education Network, the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, and Pet Professional Guild.
